Juan Zamora (b.1982) is a nomadic contemporary artist and biologist who works at the intersection of art, music, design, science, pedagogy and social practice with a focus on the environment. His bio-artistic projects invite us to reflect on human interaction with natural ecosystems and the current life crisis and have been exhibited internationally at prestigious venues such as the Manifesta Biennale, The Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, La Galería Nacional de Costa Rica or the Museum of Contemporary Art in Taipei.

He has received recognition with awards such as the National Spanish Awards ABC, BMW Foundation, and Princess of Girona of Arts & Literature, among others. He has also participated in renowned artist residencies at international centres such as ISCP of New York, the NIROX Foundation of Johannesburg, Lugar a Dudas de Cali) or the Royal Academy of Spain.Currently, he is based at  C´Foscari University in Venice.


In his work Zamora employs natural materials and phenomena, imbuing them with new poetic symbolism to highlight the natural biology of the earth as a fundamental source of art, life and knowledge. His work challenges traditional perceptions of our relationship with nature, advocating for symbolic and practical engagements with the environment.
