ABOUT SANDE RESIDENCY
Focusing on developing a creative process of research, networking and production, Sande Residency has a studio, accommodation and a development and feedback program based on the needs of each artist. Additionally, part of the program consists of meetings with selected curators/mentors depending on residency period, as well as a program of visits local art institutions. In addition to the focus on networking, the residency provides artists with curatorial support.
It is not necessary to produce works during the residency, so the time can be adapted to each artist's process. It may involve research and studies, testing ideas, or actual production. The artist has access to the studio where she/he/they can use equipment and tools as well as biomaterials in the studio's stock, upon prior agreement.
Sande Residency is for both recent graduate artists and more experienced artists, for whom the residency program could boost their practice nationally and internationally. Researchers in different areas with a creative profile are also welcome.
Methodology of the “Open space for interspecies work”
The action of exploration requires paying attention to all the presences that accompany us.
At Sande we train ourselves to become aware that every environment is a complex system in a constant and permanent chained interrelation with everything else.
Based on these lessons, the methodological proposal of the Koyne Program seeks to promote the recognition of multispecies interdependencies without underestimating the technical work of transformation that every creative process requires.
Our focus is on how to carry out the transformation processes required by creative processes and artistic research in a more sustainable way.
If you have any questions concerning the Koyne Residency, do not hesitate to contact us at info@koyne.org
